Spring thoughts

Spring has arrived after what felt like a never ending winter, and yes before you say anything I am indeed one of those people who comments on the weather. I mean can you blame a girl? One minute it's sunny, the next it's raining and snowing all in the space of an hour here in Wales.

Having had so much change happen in recent months, I wanted to focus today's post on my thoughts and feelings on the now and coming weeks. To share with you a little bit more about myself and to give a small update on what you can expect to see on my social medias.

For the first half of the post I'm going to talk about five things I'm thankful for right now, as I feel everyone should be taking time in their day, if only for a few minutes to reflect.

It can be so easy to focus on the negative that positive things can be happening around you without even realising, so take time for yourself, allow yourself to embrace these moments.

Five things I'm thankful for this Spring:

1. Decaf green tea - yes I know this is an odd one and it seems strange to be on my list, but without my regular intake throughout the day I wouldn't function properly.

2. The sunshine - it's finally made an appearance! Spring is one of my favourite times of year when you have that first warm sunny day, the whole of the country comes out in shorts thinking they're in the Bahamas.

3. My kindle - as you all know I have a bit of a problem when it comes to books, I just can't seem to stop reading them. I have managed to cure my book a day problem and now make them last a little longer...

4. The people in my life - and to the ones far away. Having had my best friend move to New Zealand a few years ago, I was over the moon to have her visit last month and it was as if she had never been away.

5. The newest member of the family Blake, he's already growing up so fast.

Five things I'm excited for right now:

1. More adventures - although the boyfriend and I already spend our weekends exploring as much as we can, Spring and Summer allows us to get out and about even more.

2. Weddings and lots of them - time to hit the shops and get those pamper days booked in.

3. Ed Sheeran - only two more months until the big day arrives and we see him live (tries to stay calm whilst writing this, the excitement is real right now)

4. Late summer evenings in beer gardens

5. Keeping up with my fitness - this may seem odd to be excited about, but each week I see improvements in my running and I can't wait to see where I will be in another months time. It's been a whole year since I started this journey and running is one of my favourite pastimes now.

Even though I've only shared a few small things here with you this month, I wanted Spring Thoughts to get everyone thinking more about the little things in life, as they can be so easily missed sometimes.

I would love to hear what you're all looking forward to this Spring and what little thing makes your day complete. Is it that morning coffee? a song you love that comes on the radio each morning?

As always I hope you have a lovely Spring, until next time.

  1. Lucky you! I don't think spring has fully come here in California - we have extremely sunny days only for the rain to come back a few days after. Mmm, I'm eternally grateful for decaf green tea as well. Hope you have a good week ahead of you and that you & the boyfriend have fun adventures on the weekend!

  3. I love this post! I know I don't take enough time to think about the good things in life that are happening. I'm also very guilty about the 1 book a day problem. It's so easy to get caught up in one and 4 hours later you're wondering where the time went.

  8. Honestly, I prefer winter. But I HATE this whole sunny one day and coats and scarves needed the next thing that we've got going on right now. I'm excited for Spring to properly arrive so I at least know what I'm doing with my wardrobe! x
